I did the same thing not just for 1st installment but have been paying subsequent under construction installments also on card. And yes have Citi gold too so double dip. Had tried with small payment on axis to see points credited for txns and then ended up doing larger amount but 8L payment through Icici epm didn’t give reward points. M4B, Atlas, Infinia did give full points though it may change post 20th June for axis with category of merchant being considered instead of Mcc

Congratulations Jay..even i have done the same although planning was not this meticulous..but hope people don't start abusing the cards now..anyways this abuse is nothing when compared to the way many builders abuse buyers

Which part of this is abuse?

This aint an abuse..absolutely not..but then when such thing becomes popular then the abuse starts..may be builders stop accepting cards after sometime..may be

Why would builders stop accepting cards? They are getting their money, they are asking buyers to pay the MDR. They don’t lose out on anything.

It is the banks that give you points, not the builders. So if anything, it is the banks that might change policies.

With online payments there is no MDR also

Yes banks or even regulator will initiate then builders might have to stop..also it depends on mcc..with few developers online transactions are not property mcc and accrue points while POS transactions are the one where fee is charged

Congratulations Jay and thank you for this elaborate and informative post. Coming to the last part of your post on payment through the burgundy debit card, which Axis platform are you referring to? I am unable to do it on the Bill Pay section either through the app or their website.
