PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY
Very Important
Right now this only works if you have a Mac and iPhone. I built this largely for myself, so this is a very very janky build just enough to make it work. Although it should work for you, as long as you follow the instructions carefully, if it doesn't please keep trying or wait until the next release/build.
You can send in your bug reports to jay@rightonpoints.com
Setup
π iPhone, where you will receive the OTPs from Gyftr and Amex.
π Messages on your Mac where the SMSs from your iPhone is synced.
π A third-party app that auto-detects your OTPs and copies them into the clipboard. I personally use texts.com (this does other stuff as well) but you could also use Yac or 2fhey
π Your card should be tokenized/saved in the Gyftr/Vouchagram platform. If you do not have this, do a transaction on the Amex Gyftr website and select Save Card Details on the payment page and complete one transaction.
π Download the extension as this zip file and extract it to a folder.
π Open Chrome or Brave and type chrome://extensions in the address bar, toggle Developer Mode to on, click Load Unpacked and select the folder where you unzipped the zip.
π When you run it for the first time, you might receive a popup from your browser requesting permission to copy stuff from your clipboard, this is required for the OTP automation to work.
π To use it, click on the extension and enter your Phone Number and Email that you use on the Gyftr Portal, also the last 4 digits of the Amex Card and CVV and hit save. Your extension is ready to use, add any vouchers to your Cart on the Amex Gyftr Reward Multiplier website, click on View Cart, on the Cart page click on the extension and select the Card youβd like to use for the transaction. Sit back and pray that it works. The browser tab needs to be selected and opened, so you cannot navigate away from it as of right now.
Everything else should be self-explanatory. Once again, this is janky!
Privacy, Security, Yada Yada....
There is no analytics, no server-side fancy shit, nothing. The extension does not track or send any data anywhere. The only details collected are your Email, Phone number, Last 4 digits of the card/s and CVV and these are stored locally. Do not sue me!
Thanks Jay! Wouldn't it be better to publish this on GitHub, so others can contribute/fork there?
