Axis Burgundy Debit Card for Ex-Citi Gold Account Holders

After the recent merger of Citi Bank accounts into Axis Bank, ex-Citi Gold account holders with the Citi Gold Debit Card that offered a flat 2% reward rate in form of cashback/statement credit uncapped have been offered an upgraded/modified variant of the Axis Burgundy Debit card. This particular variant offers 20 EdgeRewards per ₹200 spent whereas the regular Axis Burgundy Debit card offers just 2 ER per ₹200 spent.

Now these Edge Rewards go into the same bucket as the Edge Rewards earned on your other Axis Bank credit cards, so if you have the Magnus Burgundy Credit card, you can transfer these at a rate of 5:4 to the transfer partners. Without the Magnus Burgundy the transfer ration becomes 5:2. Alternatively you can also redeem them for statement credit/cash at a rate of ₹0.2 per ER (₹4 per ₹200 spent) which is an effective 2% cashback - the same rate that was available for Citi Debit Card holders.

Goes without saying that this is a too good to be true scenario here and perhaps won’t last very long. The best use case is transferring these points to the transfer partners at a ratio of 5:4.
