💺 Sweet Spots
Now Air India’s Maharaja Club isn’t a particularly great program when it comes to redemptions, however some redemptions just seem to be a tad bit better than the rest.
The best redemption during this sale would be to book Business Class on some of Air India’s South East Asian routes. For example:
DEL - HKT: 26,250 Points
DEL - BKK: 24,000 Points
BOM - SIN: 37,500 Points
BOM - KUL: 37,500 Points
In the long haul international sectors, flights to Australia are pretty decent, for example:
DEL - SYD: 97,500 Points
DEL - MEL: 93,750 Points
Domestic economy flights appear to be a gppd redemption during this sale. For example:
💬 My Thoughts
This is a good offer for folks who already have Air India Maharaja Points in their accounts, whether from the erstwhile Vistara CV program or from prior flights, or co-brand credit cards.
However, it’s not lucrative enough to justify transferring points from your HDFC, Axis, or other transferable currencies into Air India just to take advantage of this offer. In most cases, you’ll find better value and flexibility by moving those points to other partners.
This promo is best treated as a “burn opportunity”, not a “points transfer” opportunity.
