Fuel is the category that nearly every Indian credit card refuses to reward. Swipe at a petrol pump, and you get a fuel surcharge waiver at best, and zero reward points at worst. The bank codes fuel under MCC 5541; exclude it from earning.
Except it is not. There is a legitimate route to earn points on fuel purchases using the right card, and while it was never meant for people like us, it works, and it is worth exploring if you have a decent amount of fuel spent every month.
